Fr. German’s Message
On this month of May, we will update the list of persons and families
registered in the parish.
Having our parishioners’ street and email addresses, as well as their
telephone numbers is very important to us, so we can keep them informed about
the parochial activities and the planned events that, as members of the
community, our parishioners could be interested in.
As a parish, we commit ourselves to keep your information in a safe
place. No one outside our office will
have access to the information you will share with us. Confidentiality is as important to you as it
is to us.
We will not be in any position to sign the letters of recommendation or
the certificates of membership in our parish that more and more families and
persons solicit from us all the time if we do not know you or if you are not
registered in our lists. This is a
matter of honesty because we cannot say that we know you when we have never
seen you; and, above all, when your name does not appear in our directory of the
parish community.
We have had the pleasure of having already signed several letters that
have been used in the petition of the regularization of documents; in job
searches; and even in cases of a judicial nature. But, unfortunately, we have also had to
refuse requests for a letter or a certificate to persons that we have seen in
the parish for the first time. These
refusals have been caused by the fact that we have no proof of the said
persons’ participation in the community life.
All this seems somewhat technical. However, besides the administrative
functions, the human aspect and the issue of commitment to the religious
community also exist as part of our reality.
Knowing that we are integrated into a particular community is important
for you and for us. It is also important
to know that you can count on us and that we can count on you in the life of
the community.
For this reason, it is important for us to know the families and persons
that have at their disposal our pastoral services. I am sure that it is also important for you
to be able to say, “This is my church, and I belong to this parochial
community.”
Thanks to our parochial lists, we have been able to have contact with
sick persons or with families that are going through difficulties and we have
not seen again in our celebrations.
Take then a few minutes to fill out the form provided for your
registration in the parish.
Register as a member of our parish; and, above all, think about your
commitment and your active participation in the life of the community.
We need you, and you also need the community. Do not wait! Your active presence in the
community is important for your Christian life; and the future of the parish
depends on the participation of all of us.
Thank you, and have a happy week.
