Fr. German’s Message

 On this first September’s message I would like to welcome back all of you who come back from vacations. You found met with families, friends or people who you know, you got to go to new places and other communities. You come back with new experiences and strengths to begin a new academic year. Do not forget to thank the Lord for all of the encounters and everything you lived during this vacation time.

Also, to all of those who did not go out of town due to different reasons and especially due to economic reasons, I encourage you to be strong and more importantly, to never lose hope that there will be better days. You were in the parish and participated in the different activities that we organized this summer. Thank you.

I also think on all the new people in our parish. There are new families who have moved to our neighborhood or in others and who have discovered the Catholic Community of Saint Sebastian. I would like to welcome them to our Christian family and invite them to share with us their talents, their knowledge and experiences so that they could integrate easier and also so that we could take advantage our their presence among us.

In the month of September, everyone goes back to their daily work and we are at risk of going back to the monotony of our old habits. This is the time to reflect on what shall we change and how can we better organize our time, our job, our budgets, and our family, social, cultural, sport and religious life. Let us try to distribute the time so that God finds a place in our existence and so that we could drive and guide ourselves by the Holy Ghost who is a Spirit of Wisdom, Peace, Justice and Love.

I would like to take this opportunity of being the first September message to remind you that Sunday September 13^th will be a Yard Sale at Rectory Parking lot. This is a good opportunity to help the parish in its projects and also a nice occasion to meet with members of the other communities of Saint Sebastian and share a nice time with our families, and with the parish family. Do not forget that we can stay until 3:00pm and that we will have the possibility to share breakfast and lunch. I hope that a lot of people could attend to the event to show that we care about the community and the parish is not only a place where we go to receive but also to give in a little of our time and of ourselves for the wellbeing of everyone.

Mensaje del P. Germán

En este primer mensaje del mes de septiembre quisiera desearle la bienvenida a todos los que regresan de sus vacaciones. Ustedes encontraron sus familias, sus amigos o sus conocidos, descubrieron otros lugares y otras comunidades. Ustedes regresan con nuevas experiencias y llenos de fuerzas para comenzar un nuevo año escolar. No se olviden de agradecerle al Señor por todos los encuentros y por todo lo que vivieron en este tiempo de vacaciones.

También en todos los que no salieron de aquí por diferentes razones y sobre todo por razones económicas. Llénense de fuerza y sobretodo no pierdan la esperanza de que habrá días mejores. Ustedes estuvieron en la parroquia y participaron a las diferentes actividades que organizamos durante este verano. Gracias.

También pienso a todas las personas nuevas. Hay nuevas familias que han venido a instalarse en nuestro barrio o en otros barrios y que han descubierto la comunidad cristiana de San Sebastian. Les deseo la bienvenida en nuestra familia cristiana y los invito a compartir con nosotros sus talentos, sus conocimientos y sus experiencias para que se integren más fácilmente y para que podamos aprovechar de su presencia en medio de nosotros.

En el mes de septiembre todos regresan a su trabajo cotidiano y existe el riego de volvamos a la monotonía de nuestras viejas habitudes. Este es el momento de revisar lo que podemos cambiar y de cómo podemos organizar mejor el tiempo, el trabajo, el presupuesto y la vida familiar, social, cultural, deportiva y religiosa. Tratemos de distribuir el tiempo par que Dios encuentre un puesto en nuestra existencia y para que nos dejemos conducir y guiar por el Espíritu Santo que es un Espíritu de Sabiduría, de Paz, de Justicia y de Amor.

Aprovecho de este primer mensaje de septiembre para recordarles que el domingo 13 de septiembre habrá la venta de garaje en el parqueadero de la casa parroquial. Esta buena ocasión para ayudar la parroquia en sus proyectos y sobretodo una bella oportunidad para encontrarse con los miembros de las otras comunidades de San Sebastian y compartir un momento agradable en familia, con la familia parroquial. No olviden que podemos quedarnos hasta las 3:00pm  y que tendremos la posibilidad de compartir el desayuno y el almuerzo. Espero que seamos muy numerosos para mostrar que la comunidad cuenta pasa nosotros y que la parroquia no es solamente un lugar a donde vamos para recibir sino que también queremos dar un poco de nuestro tiempo y de nosotros mismos para el bien de todos.
