New Parish Bulletin

 

The parish bulletin is the primary means of communication for the parish. It is printed on paper and can be taken home after mass or retrieved at the entrance of the church during the week.

Leave it in your living room or bathroom. Someone who doesn't come to church can read it and discover good news for that day or for their life.

The bulletin is also posted weekly on the parish websites: (www.stsebastianlala.org in Spanish and English and www.cathoala.org in French).

In the bulletin we publish the Mass Schedule, parish activities and certain activities of the archdiocese. We provide it as our means of contact: (email address, website, phone number, Facebook, Youtube, Venmo, Zelle and postal address of the parish and church). In it I write a message every week to talk about a current event, about the liturgy, about the parish activities, about the information that comes from the archdiocese, from other Churches or from Rome... In the message I try to offer you elements to help you grow in your faith, and sometimes I also share personal events. The subjects are very varied.

In the bulletin we communicate our state of finances, the result of the weekly collection and the amount of money from the collections that we take to help the missions or others. The bulletin offers references to the biblical readings that the Church proposes for each day, along with a phrase that can help us pray during the day.

The bulletin allows us to let you know the Mass intentions that we apply to each Mass celebrated in the parish. This allows you to associate yourselves with our prayer through a precise intention. Every day we pray for the deceased and for the consolation of their families, for the sick, for anniversaries, for people who receive a sacrament, for the victims of catastrophes, … And for the intentions that you carry in silence in your heart. If you would like us to pray for a particular intention, please contact us.

The message is sent by email every week to all the people who have communicated their email to us and who have expressed their desire to receive it. It arrives in your mail with the homily of the week. If you do not receive it, contact us and we will add your email to our list.

Since the pandemic broke out, we have been mailing the bulletin to elderly people who cannot come to church and who do not have an email address. We do our best to keep you informed, and we count on you to help us contact people who might be interested in our activities and who we do not know or who do not know us.

We take the bulletin to nursing homes, and I know many older people read it several times a week and tell me about things they read in the bulletin when I visit them.

We are proud to have a newsletter, and we want to improve and preserve it because we believe it is indispensable in the mission that has been entrusted to us.

Since the beginning of 2022, the company J.S. Paluck, who for many years printed the bulletin for free for our parish, told us that they had to discontinue that service for financial reasons. We sincerely thank that company that allowed us to communicate with our faithful and with those who pass by the church and take a bulletin.

During the Sunday Masses, I immediately announced the bad news to the whole community, and we started looking for a solution.

Since March we have tried various paths. Now we found a good solution. We have made a good deal to exchange the old photocopier for a new machine that allows us to print the newsletter in its usual form and in color. We are happy with the result.

This generates a cost for the parish, and we think that with the advertising that we are going to publish on the last page we can cover the cost.

We ask for your help to find people, restaurants, small or large businesses that can help us by running an ad for one, two, three months or a year. We have contracts available that allow us to propose reasonable prices according to the measurements and duration of the advertisement. Do not hesitate to ask us for a contract that you can have the interested parties sign and send it to us with the corresponding payment. Give the merchant a copy of this newsletter so they can read this article and a contract so they can earn a place in the life of our community.

We all want our community to be known. We all want people who are not yet in contact with Christ to find in our community a means to discover Him. We all want to improve communication in our parish. Help us with this initiative that we present to you today.

Nuevo Boletín Parroquial

 

El Boletín Parroquial es el primer medio de comunicación de la parroquia. Está editado en papel, lo pueden llevar a casa después de misa o recuperarlo a la entrada de la iglesia durante la semana.

Déjelo en su sala o en el algún lugar visible. Alguien que no viene a la Iglesia, puede leerlo y descubrir una buena nueva para ese día o para su vida.

El boletín también está publicado cada semana en los sitios de internet de la parroquia:  (www.stsebastianlala.org en español e inglés et www.cathoala.org en francés).

En el boletín publicamos los horarios de misa, las actividades parroquiales y ciertas actividades de la Arquidiócesis. Les proporcionamos nuestros medios de contacto: (dirección email, sitio internet, número de teléfono, Facebook, Youtube, Venmo, Zelle y dirección postal de la parroquia y de la iglesia). Yo escribo todas las semanas un mensaje para hablar de un evento de actualidad, de la Liturgia, de las actividades de la parroquia, información de la Arquidiócesis, de otras Iglesias o de Roma. En el mensaje trato de ofrecerles elementos para ayudarles a crecer en su fe y a veces, comparto también eventos personales. Los temas son muy variados.

En el boletín comunicamos nuestro estado de finanzas, el resultado de la colecta semanal y la cantidad de dinero de las colectas que realizamos, para ayudar a las misiones o a otros. El boletín ofrece las referencias de las lecturas bíblicas que la Iglesia propone para cada día, además, una frase que puede ayudarnos a orar durante el día.

El boletín nos permite hacerles conocer las intenciones de misa que aplicamos a cada Misa celebrada en la parroquia. Eso les permite asociarse a nuestra oración por medio de una intención precisa. Todos los días oramos por los difuntos y por la consolación de su familia, por los enfermos, por los aniversarios, por las personas que reciben un sacramento, por las víctimas de las catástrofes, … Y por las intenciones que usted lleva en silencio en su corazón. Si desea que oremos por una intención particular, contáctenos.

El mensaje es enviado por correo electrónico cada semana, a todas las personas que nos han comunicado su email y que nos han manifestado el deseo de recibirlo. Llega a su correo con la homilía de la semana. Si no lo recibe contáctenos e inscribiremos su email en nuestra lista.

Desde que la pandemia se declaró, hemos estado enviando el boletín por correo postal a las personas de edad, que no han podido venir a la iglesia y que no poseen un correo electrónico. Hacemos todo lo posible para mantenerlos informados y contamos con ustedes para ayudarnos a contactar a las personas que podrían estar interesadas en nuestras actividades y que aún no conocemos o que no nos conocen.

Llevamos el boletín a las casas de reposo. Sé que muchas personas de edad lo leen varias veces en la semana y me hablan de cosas que han leído en el boletín cuando voy a visitarlas.

Estamos orgullosos de tener un boletín. Queremos mejorarlo y conservarlo porque creemos que es indispensable, en la misión que nos ha sido confiada.

Desde el inicio del 2022, la compañía J.S. Paluck, que durante muchos años imprimió el boletín gratuitamente para nuestra parroquia, nos anunció que debía suspender ese servicio, por razones económicas. Agradecemos sinceramente a esa compañía, que nos permitió comunicar con nuestros fieles y con aquellos que pasan por la iglesia y toman un boletín.

Durante las Misas Dominicales, inmediatamente anuncié a toda la comunidad la mala noticia y nos dimos a la tarea de buscar una solución.

Desde el mes de marzo hemos intentado varios caminos. Ahora encontramos una buena solución. Hemos hecho un buen negocio cambiando la fotocopiadora antigua, por una máquina nueva que nos permita imprimir el boletín en su forma habitual y a color. Estamos contentos del resultado.

Esto genera un costo para la parroquia y pensamos que con la publicidad de patrocinadores que vamos a presentar en la última página, podemos cubrirel costo.

Les pedimos ayuda para encontrar personas, restaurantes, comercios pequeños o grandes que puedan ayudarnos, publicando un anuncio durante uno, dos, tres meses o un año. Tenemos contratos disponibles que nos permiten proponer precios razonables, de acuerdo con las medidas y tiempo de duración del anuncio. No dude en solicitarnos un contrato que usted puede hacerllegar para la firma de personas interesadas y trasmitírnoslo con el pago correspondiente. Entregue al comerciante un ejemplar de este boletín para que lea este artículo y un contrato para que pueda obtener un lugar en la vida de nuestra comunidad.

Todos queremos que nuestra comunidad sea conocida. Todos queremos que las personas que todavía no están en contacto con Cristo, encuentren en nuestra comunidad un medio para descubrirlo.  Todos queremos mejorar la comunicación de nuestra parroquia.
