Business Manager  For a long time, I have been reflecting with the financial council of the parish on the possibility of having an employee to help me in the administration of the parish. So far it is just me, with some volunteers, who is in charge of everything that the administration represents: Maintenance of the buildings, fundraising, payment of bills, mail with the administration of the archdiocese and with the other churches here or abroad. Control of finances: provisional budget, monthly economic report and at the end of the year. Maintenance of the Internet sites and weekly sending of the message and the homily through MailChimp. All these occupations can be performed by an employee. This will allow me to find time to concentrate on my mission as a priest and pastor: visiting the sick, accompanying individuals and families, personal and community prayer. I can consecrate more time to the people in preparation before receiving a sacrament. Better weekly preparation of homilies and messages sent to the community. I would like to be more available to be more present in the school and to get to know the families better that frequent the parish and those with whom we have not yet made contact. The permanent deacon, Scott Palmer, who is the assistant to the auxiliary bishop in charge of our pastoral region, offered me a part-time salary, paid by the solidarity fund of “Together in Mission” to hire an administrative director. Greetings! My name is Mary Marquez, and I am the new Church Business Manager and the School Bookkeeper. I have been working for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles since 2008. My background is finances & accounting for example fundraising, festivals and events & more. I’m excited to be able to bring these skills into a new project here at St. Sebastian Church. Desde hace mucho tiempo evalúo con el consejo económico de la parroquia, sobre la posibilidad de tener un empleado que me ayude en la administración de la parroquia. Hasta el momento he sido yo, con algunos voluntarios, el que se encarga de todo lo que representa la administración. Mantenimiento de los edificios, recaudación de fondos, pago de facturas, correo con la administración de la arquidiócesis y otras iglesias de aquí o del exterior. Control de finanzas: presupuesto provisional, reporte económico mensual y al final del año. Mantenimiento de los sitios de internet y envío semanal por medio de MailChimp del mensaje y de la homilía. Todas estas ocupaciones podrían ser efectuadas por un empleado. Eso me permitirá tener el tiempo, para concentrarme en mi misión de sacerdote y de pastor: visita de enfermos, acompañamiento de personas y de familias, oración personal y comunitaria. Consagrar más tiempo a las personas que se preparan para recibir un sacramento. Mejor preparación semanal de las homilías y de los mensajes enviados a la comunidad. Quisiera estar más disponible, para estar más presente en la escuela, conocer mejor a las familias que frecuentan la parroquia y aquellas que todavía no conocemos. El diacono permanente, Scott Palmer, que es el asistente del obispo auxiliar encargado de nuestra región pastoral, me propuso un salario a tiempo parcial, pagado por el fondo de solidaridad de “Together in Mission” para contratar un director administrativo. También me puso en contacto con tres candidatos, que yo entrevisté antes de tomar una decisión. Consulté el Consejo Económico de la parroquia y posteriormente le propuse el trabajo a la Sra. Maria Marquez que ya ocupa el mismo puesto, a tiempo parcial, en otra parroquia. La Sra Marquez se encargará también de las finanzas de la escuela y estará un tiempo parcial repartido entre la escuela y la parroquia. Vamos a tener unos tres meses de prueba, antes de firmar un contrato a largo plazo. Esta es una presentación que la Sra, Marquez, me hizo llegar, para este boletín. ¡Paz Y Bien! Mi nombre es Mary Márquez, soy la nueva Contadora Administrativa de la Iglesia y de la Escuela San Sebastián. He trabajado para la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles desde 2008. Mi experiencia es finanzas y contabilidad, por ejemplo, recaudación de fondos, festivales, eventos y más. Estoy contenta de poder traer estas habilidades a un nuevo proyecto, aquí en la Iglesia de San Sebastián. Tengo muchas ganas de conocer a todos. Dios les Bendiga.
