Together in mission 2021.

 

Since I arrived at Saint Sebastian, I have always participated in the “Together in Mission” campaign. And every year we have reached our goal.

In 2020 the situation was difficult for the whole world. The parish also suffered financial difficulties. It is the first year that we have not reached the goal set by the Archdiocese.

Last year, the Archdiocese collected nearly $13.9M toward $ 17.1M goal.

St Sebastian’s Parish was expected to collect $ 17,854.00 and we obtained $ 11,596.24. We reached 65.9% of the amount we had been assigned. Not bad, and I sincerely thank all the individuals and families who, despite the difficulties and the multiple needs to which we responded presently, did not forget to participate in the 2020 Campaign.

Each year, the “Together in Mission” Campaign enables us, as the Church of Los Angeles, to respond to the needs of the schools and parish that are in need.

In 2020 our parish received   $36,000 from Together in Mission (which we used to pay for insurance) and the school received $ 50,000.

For 2021 we request a grant from Together in Mission of $ 32,400 for the parish and $ 50,000 for the school.

The theme of the Campaign for 2021 is “Forward with Faith.”

This year, the Campaign did not start in February as we do every year, but it has been delayed and will begin the first weekend of June. Everything has been changed with the safety and well-being of everyone in mind.

The goal requested from our parish is $ 6,907.00 and today we have already collected $ 1,972.00.

I am sure that we will quickly gather the total sum to express our gratitude and our support for this solidarity campaign within our Archdiocese.

We have until December 31, 2021 to reach the goal, but I prefer that we reach it as quickly as possible to be sure that this year we will honor our (moral) obligation.

Juntos en Mission 2021.

 

Desde que llegué a San Sebastián, siempre he participado en la campaña “Together in Mission”. Cada año hemos alcanzado nuestra meta.

En el 2020 la situación fue difícil para el mundo entero. La parroquia padeció también dificultades financieras. Es el primer año que no alcanzamos la meta fijada por la arquidiócesis.

El año pasado, la arquidiócesis reunió $ 13.9M de los $17.1 que tenía como meta.

Estaba previsto que St Sebastián reuniera $ 17.854,00 y logramos obtener $11.596,24 Alcanzamos el 65,9% de la cantidad que nos habían asignado. No está mal, agradezco sinceramente a todas las personas y familias que, a pesar de las dificultades y las múltiples necesidades a las cuales respondimos, no olvidaron participar en la Campaña del 2020.

Cada año, la Campaña “Together in Mission” nos permite, como Iglesia de Los Ángeles, responder a las necesidades de las escuelas y parroquias que se encuentran en la necesidad.

En el 2020 nuestra parroquia recibió de Together in Mission $ 36.000 (que utilizamos para pagar los seguros) y la escuela obtuvo $ 50.000

Para el 2021 solicitamos una ayuda a Together en Mission de $ 32.400 para la parroquia y de $ 50.000 para la escuela.

El tema de la Campaña para el 2021 es “Avancemos con Fe”.

Este año, la Campaña no empezó en el mes de febrero como lo hacemos cada año. Ha sido aplazada, empezará el primer fin de semana del mes de junio. Todo ha sido cambiado, pensando en la seguridad y en el bienestar de todos.

La meta solicitada a nuestra parroquia es de $ 6,907.00 y hoy ya hemos reunido $ 1.972,00.

Estoy seguro de que rápidamente vamos a reunir la suma total, para manifestar nuestro agradecimiento y nuestro apoyo a esta campaña de Solidaridad, al interior de nuestra Arquidiócesis.

Tenemos hasta el 31 de diciembre del 2021 para alcanzar la meta, pero prefiero que la alcancemos lo más rápidamente posible para estar seguros de que en este año, honremos nuestra obligación (moral).
