Dear Communities,

For your information, I am forwarding a copy of the email that was sent by Monsignor Royale M. Vadakin, Moderator of the Curia to all the parishes this morning.  If you wish to make a donation to assist the victims of the Tsunamis, Earthquakes and Typhoons, please mail your donation to the Catholic Relief Services Office directly, as indicated below.  Should you have any questions, please contact the Catholic Relief Services Office at 1-877-4357-277.

Please continue to keep the Philippines, Indonesia, Samoa and Tongan Communities in your prayers.

Thank you.

Know that the Parishes have received an initial correspondence from Bishop Oscar Solis in connection with Catholic Relief Services regarding assistance for typhoon victims in the Philippines.

With this fax, may I reiterate that Parishes may wish to offer their Parishioners the ability to assist not only in the Philippines but in other places in Asia which have been devastated by tsunamis and earthquakes.

All donations should be directed to Catholic Relief Services (CRS).

May I again indicate that donations can be done the following ways:

·       Donation via phone:          1-877-HELP-CRS

·       Donation via online:          www.crs.org

·       Checks payable to:            Catholic Relief Services

                                       Post Office Box  17090

                                       Baltimore, Maryland  21203-7090

At the bottom of the check people could indicate whether they wish it for:

o   Philippine relief ‘09

o   Tsunami relief or

o   Earthquake relief

Again, we are most blessed to have Catholic Relief Services which has people on the ground in these areas. CRS is able to reach most effectively and quickly those suffering from typhoon, tsunami, or earthquake disasters.
