The Swine Flu Pandemic

 

Set against the problem of public health caused by the swine virus and after having read the counsels of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, of some doctors and of some responsible for the Public Health in California;  it seems opportune, for the parish of San Sebastian, from the 1º of May and until further notice… 

 

1- Stop continuing distributing the communion under  2 species.  From now on, the communion will be distributed only with the Body of Christ. 

 

2- Don’t invite the faithful to be given your hand during the mass at the moment of the peace.  If some desire to continue to do it, we advise them that they replace the given of the hand or a kiss, by an inclination of the head

 

3- To all the people that frequently visit the parish, to respect rigorously the given counsels by the doctors to participate actively to the eradication of this virus. 

 

4- Insisting on the need to pray to ask the Lord that we can quickly return to our habitudes.  Pray for the families in mourning and for support of all the ones that suffer on account of this illness.

Pandemia de Gripa porcina

 Frente al problema de salud pública ocasionado por la gripa y después de haber leído los consejos de la Arquidiócesis de los Angeles, de algunos médicos y de algunos responsables de la Salud Pública en California; me parece oportuno, para la parroquia de San Sebastian, a partir del 1º de mayo y hasta nueva orden:

1.- No seguir distribuyendo la comunión bajo las 2 especies. De ahora en adelante, la comunión será distribuida solamente con el Cuerpo de Cristo.

2.- No invitar los fieles a darse la mano durante la misa en el momento de la paz. Si algunos desean continuar a hacerlo, les aconsejamos que remplacen el darse la mano o un beso como lo hacemos habitualmente por una inclinación de la cabeza.

3.- Invitar a todas las personas que frecuentan la parroquia a respectar rigurosamente los consejos dados por los médicos para participar activamente a la erradicación de este virus.

4.- Insistir sobre la necesidad de orar para pedirle al Señor que pronto podamos regresar a nuestras habitudes. Orar por las familias en luto y por el apoyo de todos los que sufren a causa de esta enfermedad.
