June 26th Blois Cathedral and Castles
Today we visited the Blois Cathedral, the Beauregard Castle (Great open view) where the owner welcomed us for lunch in the castle''s garden and offered us a guided tour to the magnificent castle. We also visited Chambord Castle which is the largest y most beautiful castle in France (after the one in Versailles). Then, we celebrated the Eucharist in Huisseau sur Cosson where I was for the first time parish pastor in my life. In the evening we were at the garden of the rectory where I lived as a pastor. We enjoyed a welcoming party with friends from Blois and some French parishioners from St. Sebastian Church in Los Angeles, who are visiting here to attend Guillaume's ordination this afternoon at 3:30 pm at Blois Cathedral. Everyone is very happy even though the intense program can be very tiring, which covers as much as possible to take advantage of getting to know many things that this country has to offer. The French people have welcomed us as kings to this beautiful country. Fr. 3rd day Boston - Paris - Blois June 25th
The night of June 24 into June 25th was spent in the air traveling from Boston to Paris in two different groups. The first group arrived in Paris at 7:30am. The second arrived at 11:45am. Phillippe and Stephane were waiting for us to drive us to Blois in two minibuses. We were in parisian traffic similar to that in Los Angeles. On the way, we stopped and enjoyed a very french style lunch. We arrived in Blois and went to a catholic school that was awaiting our arrival. It is here that we spent the night. We enjoyed a good bottle of port wine, a bottle of rose, and a bottle of champagne. All which accompanied by french specialty dished prepared by our friends in Blois. It was a good tranquil night. P. We spent the night in Boston. The morning of the 25th some of us took the opportunity to travel by boat or by metro to downtown Boston. Some of us visited the oldest known restaurant in the US. Others had the opportunity to visit the Old State House, the oldest building in the US and also the site of the beginning of the American Revolution. We departed from Boston to Paris on the evening of the 24th at 7pm. Some had a direct flight to Paris, while others had a lay over in London. This picture was taken at Hyatt Hotel in Boston, near the airport. It has breathtaking views of Boston's sky line from the harbor.
