1^st Reading: from the book of the Prophet Zechariah 9,9-10

Psalm :144(145) 1-2.8-9.10-11.13-14

2º Reading: from the Letter of St Paul to the Romans 8,9.11-13

Gospel: Saint Matthew 11,25-30

The liturgy of this Sunday invites us to allow the Holy Spirit to guide us so that we can live happily and have a compassionate and humble heart like Jesus.

Each time the Church offers us a sacrament, she reminds us that the Spirit of God dwells in our hearts. People who have been baptized, confirmed, or who have received the Eucharist know that the Holy Spirit dwells in the hearts of every man and woman of good will.

The Holy Spirit dwells in us but we must let God’s Spirit enlighten and effectively guide us. The Spirit of God does not force our will but leaves us free to follow or reject His path.

This week let’s think about whether or not the first counselor in our lives is the Spirit of God. Let’s think about whether or not we use the power of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.

If we look at the lives of those who allow the Spirit of God to enlighten and guide them, we will discover in them the joy of life, the compassion and humility of Jesus.

The prophet Zechariah invites believers to rejoice and shout with joy. The Gospel we have just heard occurred immediately after Jesus discovers that his preaching in Galilee was a failure. Despite it He thanks his Father and rejoices because God reveals Himself to the children and hides it from the wise and learned.

Both the old and New Testaments invite us to live happily. Pope Francis invites us frequently to discover the joy of the Gospel. The Spirit of God is with us to help transform everything negative in our lives and in the world into something positive. The disciples of Christ, people enlightened by the Spirit of God, need to be prophets of happiness, and messengers of hope and optimism.

 The joy of having the presence of the Spirit of God in our lives transforms us into men and women of compassionate and humble hearts, just like that of Jesus.

Christians and the whole Church must have a heart like Jesus.

 Criticism that is demeaning, gossip, judgments, condemnations and contempt for the poor and the unhappy are not compatible with the action of the Holy Spirit.

The proud, the powerful, those who think they know everything, people who see themselves as perfect, guiltless and sinless, have closed their hearts to receiving the Spirit of God.

The Holy Spirit is in us to help us have a compassionate and humble heart like Jesus.

 This week, let’s open our hearts to the Holy Spirit so that the joy of God may dwell in our lives and that our words and actions may always be inspired by the compassion and humility of our brother, Jesus.

2ª lectura : de la carta de San Pablo a los Romanos 8,9.11-13

Evangelio: San Mateo 11,25-30

La liturgia de este domingo, nos invita a buscar la guía del Espíritu Santo para vivir alegres y tener un corazón dócil y humilde, como el de Jesús.

Cada vez que la Iglesia nos ofrece un sacramento, nos recuerda que el Espíritu de Dios habita en nuestros corazones. Los que han sido bautizados, confirmados y quienes han recibido la Eucaristía, saben que el Espíritu Santo habita en el corazón de todo hombre y mujer de buena voluntad.

El Espíritu Santo habita en nosotros, pero día a día,  debemos buscar ser iluminados y guiados por Él, para que su presencia se manifieste. El Espíritu de Dios no obliga a nuestra voluntad, sino que la deja en libertad, de decidir, ya sea seguir sus caminos o rechazar sus rutas.

En esta semana preguntémonos, si el primer consejero en nuestra vida es el Espíritu de Dios. En esta semana preguntémonos, si en nuestra vida está presente la fuerza del Espíritu Santo que nos habita.

Si observamos la vida de aquellos que buscan ser iluminados y guiados por el Espíritu de Dios, vamos a ver en ellos, la alegría de vivir, la docilidad y humildad de Jesús.

El profeta Zacarías invita a los creyentes a exaltarse de alegría y gritar de júbilo. El Evangelio que acabamos de escuchar, se sitúa inmediatamente después de que Jesús descubre, que su predicación en Galilea ha sido un fracaso. A pesar de ello, Jesús agradece a su Padre y se alegra porque Dios se revela a los pequeños y se esconde de los sabios e ilustrados.

Tanto el antiguo como el nuevo Testamento nos invitan a vivir alegres. El Papa Francisco nos invita frecuentemente, a descubrir la alegría del Evangelio. El Espíritu de Dios está con nosotros para ayudarnos a transformar en positivo, todo lo que hay de negativo en nuestra vida y en el mundo. Los discípulos de Cristo, aquellos que se dejan guiar por el Espíritu de Dios deben ser profetas de la felicidad, mensajeros de la esperanza y obreros de positividad.

La alegría producida por la presencia del Espíritu de Dios en nuestra vida, nos hace  hombres y mujeres con un corazón dócil y humilde como el de Jesús.

Los cristianos y la Iglesia entera debemos tener un corazón semejante al de Jesús.

La crítica denigrante, los chismes, las injusticias, las condenaciones y el desprecio hacia el pobre y los menos favorecidos, no son compatibles con la acción del Espíritu Santo.

Los orgullosos, los que ostentan poder, aquellos que creen saberlo todo, las personas que se consideran perfectas, sin falta y sin pecado, tienen un corazón demasiado cerrado para recibir el Espíritu de Dios.

El  Espíritu Santo está con nosotros, para ayudarnos a tener un corazón dócil y humilde como el de Jesús.

En esta semana, abramos nuestro corazón al Espíritu Santo, para que la alegría de Dios habite nuestra vida. Para que nuestras palabras y nuestros actos, estén siempre inspirados  en la  docilidad y la humildad de nuestro hermano Jesús.
