14^th Sunday of the Church Time A

For this week’s meditation this Sunday’s Gospel offers  us a prayer and an invitation from Jesus

A prayer of Jesus.

Jesus, in the midst of His busiest day, pauses to thank the Father for His goodness and to place value in the importance of simplicity of life.

We too have very busy days, and amidst our occupations and multiple activities, we need to take time to thank the Lord for all that He gives us in His goodness.

Life, health, nature, family, knowledge, good living conditions in our countries, peace around us…The list is enormous and each of us can add on  the many gifts we receive from the Lord.

We should learn to thank God. We must learn to see the beauty of life and the multitude of good things around us.

Whoever knows how to acknowledge and thank God for His goodness and for the wonders of creation is happier than those who pass their time complaining of everything they wish to have or for all the miseries that exist in the world.

Today, Jesus reminds us that, in life, we should take time to thank God and to praise Him for the intelligence that He gives us and for the life that He lends us each day.

Let us be like children who take advantage of their day and live day by day without worrying about what they will eat tomorrow.

We are in God’s hands and He wished to reveal Himself to lowly, simple people. Let us, then, be humble and simple so as to discover the path proposed by God for us  and the light that He grants to those who agree to follow Him.

When children are in the arms of their father or mother, they feel safe, they are not worried about anything and their hearts rest peacefully. The prayer of praise or thanks invites us to acknowledge that we are in God’s hands, that we can feel safe because God watches over us day and night and we can live in peace because, if God is with us, no one can be against us.

An invitation of Jesus.

Jesus teaches us to be grateful to the Father in prayer and invites us to go to Him to find, rest at His side and the strength to live.

Let us not turn down Jesus’ invitation to share our life with Him. He is meek and humble of heart and He is the only one who can fill us with joy, love and peace. 

Sometimes there are people who do not dare to believe or who have turned away from the Church because they have received the faith as a difficult yoke to carry. It’s a mistake. Jesus tells us today that His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Let us not be afraid to open the doors of our hearts completely to Jesus.

Let us accept the invitation of Jesus to follow Him, and we will not be disappointed. Jesus offers us a way of love, reconciliation, peace, and happiness.

Let us thank God for our having found Jesus on our way and ask God to grant us the joy of following Christ and so share our life with Him

2ª lectura : de la carta de San Pablo a los Romanos 8,9.11-13

Evangelio: San Mateo 11,25-30

 

El Evangelio de este domingo nos ofrece para la meditación de la semana una oración y una invitación de Jesús.

Una oración de Jesús.

Jesús, en medio de su jornada, bien ocupada, se detiene para agradecer al Padre por su bondad y para poner en valor la importancia de la sencillez en la vida.

Nosotros también tenemos jornadas bien cargadas y en medio de nuestras ocupaciones y de las múltiples actividades, tomamos tiempo para agradecer al Señor por todo lo que nos da en su gran bondad.

La vida, la salud, la naturaleza, la familia, la inteligencia, las buenas condiciones en las cuales vivimos en nuestros países, la paz que hay alrededor de nosotros,…. La lista es enorme y cada uno puede aumentar muchos regalos que recibimos de la parte del Señor.

Debemos aprender a agradecer a Dios. Tenemos que aprender a ver la belleza de la vida y la multitud de cosas buenas que hay alrededor de nosotros.

Quien sabe reconocer y agradecer a Dios por su bondad y por las maravillas de la creación es más feliz que aquel que pasa su tiempo a quejarse por todo lo que quisiera tener o por todas las desgracias que hay en el mundo.

Hoy Jesús nos recuerda que en la vida debemos tomar tiempo para agradecer a Dios y para alabarlo por la inteligencia que nos da y por la vida que nos presta cada día.

Seamos como los niños que aprovechan de su día y que viven día a día sin preocuparse de lo que van a comer mañana.

Estamos en las manos de Dios y Él quiso revelarse a la gente sencilla. Seamos entonces humildes y sencillos para descubrir el camino que Dios nos propone y la luz que Él le da a quienes aceptan seguirlo.

Cuando un niño está en los brazos de su padre o de su madre, se siente en seguridad, no se preocupa por nada y su corazón descansa en paz. La oración de alabanza o de agradecimiento nos invita a reconocer que estamos en las manos de Dios, que podemos sentirnos en seguridad ya que Dios nos cuida día y noche y que podemos vivir en paz ya que si Dios está con nosotros nadie puede estar contra nosotros.

Una invitación de Jesús.

Jesús nos enseña a agradecer al Padre en la oración y nos invita a ir a Él para encontrar al lado de Él el descanso y la fuerza para vivir.

No rechacemos la invitación de Jesús a compartir con El nuestra vida. El es manso y humilde de corazón y Él es el único que puede llenarnos de alegría, de amor y de paz.

A veces hay personas que no se atreven a creer o que se han alejado de la Iglesia ya que les han presentado la fe como un yugo difícil a llevar. Es un error. Jesús nos dice hoy que su yugo es suave y su carga ligera.

No tengamos miedo de abrir completamente las puertas de nuestro corazón a Jesús.

Aceptemos la invitación de Jesús a seguirlo y no seremos desilusionados. Jesús nos propone un camino de amor, de reconciliación, de paz, de felicidad.

Agradezcamos a Dios por haber encontrado a Jesús en nuestro camino y pidámosle que nos conceda la felicidad de seguir a Cristo para compartir con Él nuestra vida.
