The Liturgy of this Sunday is very rich in teachings.

The readings are quite simple and we could say that they don’t need interpretation or explanation. I’m sure that we can find very important lessons for our daily life in these readings.

From the 1^st reading until the Gospel, the Word of God tells us many things about our human condition and about the infinite love of God for us. I invite you to read again today’s texts during this week and to listen very carefully to what God says to you personally.

Today I want to take only three points that can help us to know ourselves better and to love God more.

1.- We are all sinners.

2.- Our life is precious to God.

3.- God never tires of looking for us and sooner or later He will find us.

1.- We are all sinners.

The media announces every day a new conflict here or in another place.

I don’t feel able to make a list of all countries that are at war today. I risk forgetting half and the homily will be too long.

We are all sinners. We all have the obligation and responsibility to make an examination of conscience to try to change our lives so the world will be better for everyone.

I know you will tell me that you have nothing to do with terrorism. It is true. But if we talk about justice and do not act on it by respecting others, loving nature, sharing our wealth with the poor, helping the sick, the elderly and the needy of society, we are in trouble. We all need God’s mercy to love better our brothers and sisters and creation that God has put into our hands.

2. - Our life is precious to God. All today’s Liturgy and the Bible say that everyone is important to God. God’s eyes do not see differences between rich and poor, white and black, doctors and workers or between those who have no ID. We are all precious pearls to God. He loves us unconditionally. This is the reason why all life should be respected: because God loves us and because we all are images of God.

3. - God never tires of looking for us and sooner or later He will find us.

The three parables of the Gospel remind us that God never tires of looking for us and sooner or later He will find us and organize a party for us.

Every time we do something that is opposite to love, we hurt ourselves and we hurt the heart of God. If you allow me the expression, I would say that God cannot sleep in peace, seeing that we are suffering because of the evil that is in us and around us.

Let us open our hearts this week to allow God to change in us all that which prevents us from being happy. Let us open our hearts to allow God to love us. Let us open our hearts to allow God to find us and take us on his shoulders.

2ª lectura: de la 1ª carta de Sn Pablo a Timoteo 1,12-17

Evangelio: de San Lucas 15,1-32

La liturgia de este domingo es muy rica en enseñanzas.

Las lecturas son bastante sencillas, podríamos decir que no necesitan ser interpretadas, o explicadas. Estoy seguro de que podríamos aprender lecciones importantes para nuestra vida, de cada una de estas lecturas.

Desde la 1ª lectura hasta el Evangelio, la Palabra de Dios nos habla de nuestra condición humana y del inmenso amor de Dios por la humanidad.

Les propongo leer otra vez los textos, durante la semana y escuchar atentamente, lo que Dios les dice personalmente.

Hoy quisiera simplemente, tomar tres puntos que pueden ayudarnos, a conocernos un poco mejor y a amar un poco más a Dios.

1.- Todos somos pecadores.

2.- Nuestra vida es preciosa para Dios.

3.- Dios no se cansa de buscarnos y tarde o temprano nos encontrará.

1.- Todos somos pecadores.

Los medios de comunicación anuncian todos los días, un conflicto nuevo en algún sitio.

No me siento capaz de hacer la lista de todos los países, que están en guerra actualmente. Voy a olvidar la mitad y la homilía sería demasiado larga.

Todos somos pecadores. Todos tenemos la obligación y la responsabilidad de hacer un examen de conciencia, para tratar de cambiar nuestra manera de vivir, para que el mundo sea mejor para todos.

Yo sé que ustedes me van a decir, que no tienen nada que ver con el terrorismo. Es verdad. Pero si hablamos de justicia, del respeto del otro, del amor por la naturaleza. De compartir nuestras riquezas con los más pobres. De nuestra manera de ayudar a los enfermos, a las personas de edad, a los más necesitados de la sociedad, tendremos que reconocer que no siempre actuamos como deberíamos. Todos necesitamos de la misericordia de Dios, para amar mejor a nuestros hermanos y hermanas, a la creación que Dios puso en nuestras manos.

2.- Nuestra vida es preciosa para Dios. Toda la liturgia de hoy y toda la Biblia, nos dicen a cada uno de nosotros lo que es importante para Dios. Los ojos de Dios no hacen diferencia entre el rico y el pobre, entre personas de diferente color, entre el doctor o el obrero. Entre quien tiene un pasaporte, o los que no tienen documento de identidad. Para Dios todos somos perlas preciosas. Él nos ama incondicionalmente. Esa es la razón por la cual, la vida de todos debe ser respetada. Porque Dios nos ama y porque todos somos imagen de Dios.

3.- Dios no se cansa de buscarnos y tarde o temprano nos encontrará. Las tres parábolas del Evangelio, nos recuerdan que Dios no se cansa jamás de buscarnos, que tarde o temprano nos encontrará y que organizará una fiesta para nosotros.

Cada vez que hacemos algo que se opone al amor, nos hacemos daño y herimos el corazón de Dios. Si ustedes me permiten, yo diría que Dios no puede dormir en paz, viendo que estamos sufriendo, a causa del mal que hay en nosotros y a nuestro alrededor.

Abramos nuestro corazón en esta semana, para permitir que Dios cambie en nosotros, todo lo que nos impide ser felices. Abramos el corazón para dejar que Dios nos ame. Abramos el corazón para que Dios nos encuentre y nos pueda llevar sobre sus hombros. Amen
