The Gospel of this Sunday helps us discover some characteristics of God:

1.- God’s sense of justice and righteousness goes beyond all of our criteria.

2.- Day and night the Lord calls to those who are far from His Kingdom.

3. God invites all men and women of good will to work with Him in building a better world.

1.- God’s sense of justice and righteousness goes beyond all of our criteria.

After listening to the parable of this Sunday we probably agree more with the laborers who were hired first than with the landowner. For us it seems natural that the laborers who started to work early in the morning should receive a higher wage than those who worked only one hour at the end of the day. But God does not think as we do. God is so kind that He offers us eternal happiness and is not counting our love by the number of hours, days or years. God wants everyone to be saved - both, those who have done good throughout their lives and those who have started loving and doing good late in life. God neither makes calculations nor measurements. God loves and His love surpasses all of our expectations.

2.- Day and night the Lord calls to those who are far from His Kingdom.

As the landowner of the parable, God sends messengers to earth to find, day and night, those who are unable to love. God does not give up on those who still have not decided to love. Day and night, the Lord seeks, by all means, to convince humanity to take the path of love. But God does not work alone.

3. God invites all men and women of good will to work with Him in building a better world.

In the vineyard of the Lord, in the Church, no one is excluded. Men and women of all ages, and of all cultures, are invited by the Lord to work with Him in building a world where peace and justice prevail.

The Kingdom of God is open to believers and nonbelievers. The work for justice and peace is not reserved for Christians or believers. We can tell our brothers and sisters that all of us are invited to work for justice and peace in the world so that someday humankind can reach the happiness that God promised to those who work with Him.

During this week we can thank the Lord for His patience with us. These days we can try to find the times when we feel that the Lord has called us to guide us into the right path. These days we can invite our friends, believers or not, to join us to work on building a better world for all.

Evangelio: San Mateo 20,1-16

El Evangelio de este domingo nos ayuda a reflexionar sobre algunas de las características de Dios:

1.- La justicia y la bondad de Dios van más allá de todos nuestros juicios.

2.- El Señor busca día y noche aquellos que se encuentran alejados del Reino de Dios.

3.- Dios invita a todos los hombres y mujeres de buena voluntad a trabajar con Él, en la construcción de un mundo mejor.

1.- La justicia y la bondad de Dios van más allá de todos nuestros juicios.

Al escuchar la parábola de este domingo podríamos estar más de acuerdo, con los obreros de la primera hora, que con el Patrón. Para nosotros es lógico pensar que los obreros que empezaron a trabajar desde temprano en la mañana, reciban un mejor salario que los que trabajaron solamente una hora, al finalizar la jornada. Pero Dios no piensa como nosotros. Dios nos propuso la felicidad eterna y Él es tan bueno que no cuenta las horas, ni los días ni los años que hemos amado a nuestros semejantes. Dios quiere que todos se salven. Tanto los que han hecho el bien durante toda su vida, como los que han decidido hacer el bien y amar a sus semejantes al final de su vida. Dios no calcula, Dios no mide, Dios ama y su amor sobrepasa todas nuestras previsiones.

2.- El Señor busca día y noche aquellos que se encuentran alejados del Reino de Dios.

Como el Patrón al que se refiera la parábola, Dios envía mensajeros a la tierra para buscar, día y noche, a aquellos que no saben amar a sus semejantes. Dios no se desespera frente aquellos que todavía no se han decidido a amar en su vida. Día y noche, el Señor busca, por todos los medios, convencer a la humanidad de  seguir el camino del amor para vivir mejor. Pero Dios no trabaja solo.

3.- Dios invita a todos los hombres y mujeres de buena voluntad a trabajar con Él, en la construcción de un mundo mejor.

En la viña del Señor, en la Iglesia no hay excluidos. Todos los hombres y mujeres, de todas las edades y de todas las culturas, están invitados a trabajar con Él,  en la construcción de un mundo en el cual reinen la paz y la justicia.

El Reino de Dios está abierto tanto a  los creyentes como a los no creyentes. El trabajar por la justicia y la paz, no son misiones reservadas únicamente para  los cristianos o para los creyentes. Podemos decir a todos y cada uno de nuestros hermanos y hermanas, que están invitados a trabajar por la justicia y por la paz en el mundo. Para que la humanidad pueda conocer algún día la felicidad que Dios prometió a aquellos que trabajan con Él.

En esta semana agradezcamos al Señor por su paciencia con nosotros. En esta semana intentemos  descubrir los momentos y las ocasiones, en las cuales hemos sentido que el Señor nos busca, para ayudarnos a seguir el buen camino. En esta semana invitemos  a nuestros amigos, practicantes o no, a unirse a nosotros para trabajar en la construcción de un mundo mejor para todos.
