The Church invites us on this second Sunday of ordinary time to reflect on our vocations.

We have all been called by God to follow Christ and sent by God to build a better world.

Called by God to follow Christ.

All the baptized have been called by God to follow Christ. The vocation of all Christians is to listen to the voice of God and to discover the path that the Lord asks us to follow.

There are those who are called to follow the vocation of marriage and others to a life of celibacy. There are those who are called to follow Christ in religious life or to a social, political or religious commitment at the service of others.

Each one must discover, respond and commit oneself to the way that Christ offers.

All the baptized should follow the example of the prophet Samuel who listened to the voice of the Lord.  Christ calls us to respond, like Samuel: Here I am Lord to do your will.

The happiness of each one is found in the discovery of his/her vocation, in the response to that call and in the commitment to follow Christ in  that vocation

During this week we can ask ourselves if we already have discovered our vocation, if we are responding to the call of the Lord and if Christ is our guide every day in everything we say and do.

The baptized have been called and sent by God to build a better world. Whatever our vocation is, whatever our activity in life is, we are all responsible for building a better world.  God depends on us to see that peace, justice and love are present in our family, in our society, at work and in the community.

God guides us and Jesus shows us the way, but the building of peace, working for justice and our relationships of love and fraternity depend on the commitment of each one.

Every morning, as we get out of bed, we should say as did Samuel: Here I am Lord, ready to do your will. And the Lord's will is that all   people of good will work together to build a better world. We need a world in which love and compassion are practiced by all, a world in which the dignity and freedom of all are respected and a place where everyone can realize their vocation and follow Christ if they wish.

During this week let us listen to the voice of the Lord who calls us and sends us to build a better world around us.

Evangelio: de San Juan 1,35-42

La Iglesia nos invita en este segundo domingo del tiempo ordinario, a hablar de la vocación.

Todos hemos sido llamados por Dios, a  seguir a Cristo. Y hemos sido enviados por Dios, para construir un mundo mejor.

Llamados por Dios, a seguir a Cristo.

Todos los bautizados han sido llamados por Dios a seguir a Cristo. La vocación de todos los cristianos es escuchar la voz de Dios y descubrir el camino, que el Señor le propone para seguir a Jesús.

Hay quienes son llamados a seguirlo en la vocación al matrimonio, o en una vida de celibato. Hay quienes están llamados a seguir a Cristo en la vida religiosa, o en un compromiso social, político o religioso al servicio de los demás.

Cada uno debe descubrir, responder y comprometerse, en el camino que el Señor nos propone, para seguirlo en la vocación que Cristo nos ofrece.

Todos los bautizados deben seguir el ejemplo del profeta Samuel. Escuchar la voz del Señor que nos llama y responder, como Samuel: Aquí estoy Señor para hacer tu voluntad.

La felicidad de cada uno, se encuentra en el descubrimiento de su vocación, en la respuesta a ese llamado y en el compromiso a seguir a Cristo en la vocación que el Señor nos propone.

En esta semana podemos preguntarnos si ya descubrimos nuestra vocación, si estamos respondiendo al llamado del Señor y si Cristo es nuestro guía de todos los días, en todo lo que decimos y hacemos.

Los bautizados hemos sido llamados y enviados por Dios a construir un mundo mejor. Cualquiera que sea nuestra vocación, cualquiera que sea nuestra actividad en la vida, todos somos responsables de la construcción de un mundo mejor.

Depende de cada uno de nosotros que la paz, la justicia y el amor estén presentes o ausentes en nuestra familia, en nuestra sociedad, en el trabajo, en la comunidad y en el mundo.

Dios nos guía y Jesús nos muestra el camino, pero la construcción de la paz, el trabajo por la justicia y las relaciones de amor y de fraternidad entre nosotros dependen del compromiso de cada uno.

Todas las mañanas, al empezar el dia, debemos decir como Samuel: Aquí estoy Señor, para hacer tu voluntad. La voluntad del Señor es que todos los bautizados se  unan a los hombres y mujeres de buena voluntad, para construir un mundo mejor. Necesitamos un mundo en el cual, la fraternidad sea vivida por todos, un mundo en el cual la dignidad y la libertad de todos sean respetadas. Un mundo en el cual, todos puedan realizar su vocación y seguir a Cristo si lo desean.

En esta semana escuchemos la voz del Señor que nos propone una vocación. Dejémonos enviar por el Señor a construir un mundo mejor alrededor de nosotros.
