We invite all parish Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors and Musicians to a mandatory bilingual (En/Sp) formation meeting on Thursday, September 14 at 7:00pm at the church. New candidates are welcome. Please help us to spread the word.

John Tartaglia, Funeral Mass will take place in St Sebastian Church on Wednesday July 26^th at Noon. After Mass we will accompany the body of John and his family to Forest Lawn Hollywood Cemetery (6300 Forest Lawn Dr. Los Angeles Ca 90068) Thank you for your prayer and your presence. The choir will have rehearsal on Tuesday 18^th and 25^th at 6:30pm and on Wednesday 26 at 11am at the church. We will celebrate a Mass in French in his memory on Sunday July 30^th at 10am. A potluck offered by the family will take place after Mass. All are invited.

John Tartaglia passed way

My friend John Tartaglia, the father of Lucas and the husband of Odile passed away on Friday June 16th at 3:50 pm
Please keep John, Odile and Lucas in your prayer.
We will give more information about his funeral later on.

Dear friends of Saint Sebastian’s Polyglot Choir,
I am very sorry to announce that yesterday at 3:50pm our great friend John Tartaglia passed away.
His heart stopped beating and John fell asleep peacefully few minutes before Odile came to visit him at the recovery home where he had been for two weeks.
Last week I went to visit him and provided him with the anointing of the sick.
John, a professional composer, wrote the St. Sebastian’s Mass and offered it to me as a gift to celebrate my 20 years as a priest in June 2013.
Today we do not know when the thanksgiving Mass for his life will take place in Saint Sebastian, but from now on I would like to cordially invite you to join us in the polyglot choir of our parish.
Marie Garnier and Steven have agreed to direct the music program for the Mass, but we need each of you to be present. They will communicate one or two rehearsal dates. Thank you in advance and I hope that everyone can join us in this moment of our community life.
John was always here to participate in our big celebrations and play the piano with our multilingual choir.
In gratitude and to accompany Odile and Lucas in these moments of separation, we will try to make a beautiful liturgy.

Traveling Exhibit: Miracles of the Eucharist Across the World by Blessed Carlo Acutis

This exhibition, which was designed by Blessed Carlo Acutis, features a wide range of images and historical summaries of the various Eucharist miracles that occurred across the world and were acknowledged by the Catholic Church.
 
Discover the International Exhibit of Eucharistic Miracles organized by Blessed Carlo Acutis, an Italian teenager who passed away from cancer but had a sincere devotion to the Eucharist and a passion for research. Carlo Acutis attended a Jesuit high school in Milan. He was a kind person who spoke up for bullied children and helped his friends whose parents were separating. He volunteered his time with the underprivileged and destitute outside of school. He was regarded as a "computer geek" who had a deep devotion to the Eucharist. As a result, he developed The International Eucharistic Miracles of the World Exhibit, a website that catalogs Eucharistic miracles from around the world. He died of leukemia in 2006 and was beatified in 2020. The exhibition offers visitors the chance to learn more about Blessed Carlo Acutis, expand their knowledge of Eucharistic miracles, and develop a unique connection to the Eucharist.

Exhibición itinerante: Milagros de la Eucaristía de todo el mundo, por el Beato Carlo Acutis

Esta exhibición, que fue diseñada por el Beato Carlo Acutis, presenta una amplia gama de imágenes y resúmenes históricos de varios milagros eucarísticos que ocurrieron en todo el mundo y fueron econocidos por la Iglesia Católica.
Descubra la Exhibición Internacional de Milagros Eucarísticos organizada por el Beato Carlo Acutis, un adolescente italiano que falleció de cáncer y que tenía una sincera devoción por la Eucaristía y una pasión por la investigación. Carlo Acutis asistió a una escuela secundaria jesuita en Milán. Era una persona amable que defendía a los niños acosados y ayudaba a sus amigos cuyos padres se estaban separando. Ofreció su tiempo como voluntario con los desfavorecidos y los indigentes fuera de las escuelas. Se le consideraba como un “geek (genio) de informática” que tenía una profunda devoción por la Eucaristía. Como resultado, él desarrolló la Exhibición Internacional de Milagros Eucarísticos del Mundo, un sitio web que reúne un catálogo de los milagros eucarísticos de todo el mundo. Murió de leucemia en 2006 y fue beatificado en 2020. La exposición ofrece a los visitantes la oportunidad de aprender más sobre el Beato Carlo Acutis, ampliar su conocimiento sobre los milagros eucarísticos y desarrollar una conexión única con la Eucaristía.

French Boys’ Choir



A few weeks ago, Verónique and François, who are responsible for “Les Petits Chanteurs de France” www.petitschanteursdefrance.fr (The little singers of France-French Boys Choir) contacted me to study the possibility of a presentation of this group in our community.
I contacted Elisabeth Nataf and we just spoke with Laure de Tinguy, who is the president of Los Angeles Accueil, to organize the presentation and welcoming of the group.
Les Petits Chanteurs de France (19 children and 3 adults) will be with us on May 4th. The children will be housed in pairs with some families from the community, especially families from our school. The adults will be at my house and at Elisabeth's house.
They will perform a Concert in the Church of Saint Sebastian on Thursday, May 4 at 7pm and will leave the following day.
The Concert is free, and we will take up a collection before the end of the performance to contribute to their expenses.
It is an honor and a joy to welcome, in this Easter season, Les Petits Chanteurs de Paris. We invited very numerous children and adults to participate in this concert. You will be happy to have seen and heard those angelic voices.
Come in good turnout to this amazing presentation and invite your friends.

Les Petits Chanteurs de France are part of an old tradition of music by children's choirs.
These are children who have a beautiful voice and who agree to work on it to integrate a choir, with other children, and sing in the churches and in the public halls that welcome them.
Les Petits Chanteurs de France were created in 2013. It is a choir for children from 8 to 20 years of age dedicated to choral singing and associates an educational and cultural vocation, like the most famous choirs in the world: Little Singers of Vienna, New College in Oxford,…
Les Petits Chanteurs de France have given concerts in the largest cathedrals in France, television broadcasts, and national and international tours in China, Taiwan, USA, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland. They have participated in radio concerts, religious ceremonies, and charity galas.
Under the direction of Véronique Thomassin, chef of the choir, concerts in France and abroad have been multiplied.
The repertoire of the Petits Chanteurs de France is made up of the most beautiful pages of classical music: from Gregorian music to Renaissance polyphony, from Vivaldi's Gloria to Handel's Alleluia, passing through Ave Maria by Caccini, Ave Verum by Mozart,… The second part of the Concert is more modern and contains parts of musical comedies and soundscapes from France and elsewhere.

Los pequeños cantantes de Francia



Desde hace algunas semanas Verónique et François, responsables de “Les Petits Chanteurs de France” www.petitschanteursdefrance.fr (Los pequeños cantantes de Francia) me contactaron, para ver la posibilidad de una presentación de ese grupo en nuestra comunidad.
Me puse en contacto con Elisabeth Nataf, los dos hablamos con Laure de Tinguy, presidenta de Los Ángeles Accueil, para organizar la presentación y la acogida del grupo.
Les Petits Chanteurs de France (19 niños y 3 adultos) estarán con nosotros el 4 de mayo. Los niños estarán alojados de dos en dos con algunas familias de la comunidad, sobre todo familias de nuestra escuela. Los adultos estarán en mi casa y en la casa de Elisabeth.
Ellos nos ofrecerán un Concierto en la Iglesia de San Sebastián, el jueves 4 de mayo a las 7pm y partirán al día siguiente.
El Concierto es gratis, pero haremos una colecta antes del final de la presentación, para contribuir a sus gastos.
Es un honor y una alegría acoger en este tiempo de Pascua, Les Petits Chanteurs de Paris. Invitamos niños y adultos muy numerosos, a participar en ese concierto. Ustedes estarán felices de haber visto y escuchado esas voces angelicales.
Los esperamos numerosos en esa magnifica presentación, inviten a sus amistades.

Les Petits Chanteurs de Francia se inscriben en una vieja tradición de música de coros de niños.
Se trata de niños que tienen una hermosa voz y que aceptan trabajarla para integrar un coro, con otros niños, y cantar en las iglesias y en las salas públicas que los acogen.
Les Petits Chanteurs de France han sido creados en 2013. Es un coro de niños de 8 a 20 años, que se consagra al canto en coral y asocia una vocación educativa y cultural, como los más célebres coros del mundo: Petits Chanteurs de Viena, New College in Oxford,…
Les Petits Chanteurs de France han hecho conciertos en las más grandes catedrales de Francia, emisiones de televisión y giras nacionales e internacionales en China, Taiwan, USA, Bélgica, Luxemburgo, Suiza. Han participado en conciertos en la radio, en ceremonias religiosas y en galas de caridad.
Bajo la dirección de Véronique Thomassin, directora del cora, los conciertos en Francia y en el extranjero se han multiplicado.
El repertorio de los Petits Chanteurs de France está compuesto por las más hermosas páginas de la música clásica: de la música gregoriana a la polifonía del renacimiento, del Gloria de Vivaldi al Aleluya de Haendel, pasando por el Ave María de Caccini, Ave Verum de Mozart,… La segunda parte del concierto es más moderna y contiene partes de comedias musicales y de paisajes sonoros de Francia y de otras partes.
